Fall Skincare TipsIt is officially fall time! Pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin carving, apple picking, fall festivals and more! What’s better than cozying up and watching a movie? Autumn truly is the best season of the year. However, we often don’t acknowledge the negative effects the changes in seasons can have on your skin. The drastic change from warm weather to cold weather has a significant impact on your skin. That is why it is important to shake up your skincare routine for fall. Alter your routine for products that are better for cold weather rather than warm.

Here at Mole Removal Los Angeles, we champion for healthy, younger looking skin. We practice cosmetic procedures because we want to help our patients feel their most confident, beautiful selves. We sat down with our board-certified and chatted about skincare routines for the fall time. Here are three fall skincare tips from our board-certified surgeon. Don’t take this advice lightly….

  1. Use a heavy moisturizer. Switch out your oil free moisturizer for a heavier one. It is no longer summertime, so no need to worry about excess oil on your skin. On the contrary, your skin will need the extra moisture during cold months. Remember to apply some moisturizer to your neck to prevent aging and dryness.
  2. Wear sunscreen daily. This skincare tip is one we repeat often. Don’t skip the SPF, sun damage can happen year-round. UV rays can be invisible, but they still damage your skin and can cause skin cancer. Wearing sunscreen creates a shield that protects your skin from these harmful rays. We advise you to leave sunscreen as the last step in your routine.
  3. Get a good serum. Serums are a great way to avoid skin care issues the cold weather brings, like dullness, dry patches and redness. Be cautious of what serum you are using. Some serums are solely meant to be applied during the nighttime. Strong ingredients commonly found in serums like Alpha-hydroxy-acids (AHAs) and Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) make the skin extra sensitive to the sun. This is since AHAs, and BHA have exfoliating effects. We advise you to apply serum before your moisturizer.
